Emmanuelle Khanh Opens Her First Parisian Pop-Up Store

12 November 2020

The famous brand of French designer Emmanuelle Khanh, known for its iconic large black sunglasses, has opened a pop-up store in the Haut Marais district. The space, designed for the occasion, is set up like a workshop. Whether you’re looking for something special or simply want to discover the brand’s new identity, there’s always a good reason to visit this new location in the heart of the capital, open until the end of the year.

Emmanuelle Khanh Pop-Up: A Fresh Breath for the Brand

It is at number 130 Rue de Turenne, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, that the French brand has set up its new pop-up store. Relaunched for three seasons with Sam Attyé as artistic director, he explains that this is “the brand’s first standalone store in over 15 years.” The aim behind this opening, both essential and temporary? To provide coherence within the Emmanuelle Khanh brand, showcasing it in its entirety. In other words, to give it a fresh breath by injecting its true DNA.

The 65m² space will be open for discovery starting November 30th and will close its doors at the end of December.

Emmanuelle Khanh Pop-Up: The Origins of the Brand

In the 1960s, Emmanuelle Khanh was one of the first three female designers, alongside Michèle Rosier and Sonia Rykiel, to launch a ready-to-wear line, declaring that “Haute couture was dead!” After working at Paco Rabanne and Missoni, she created her own brand, bearing her name, with a strong desire to draw inspiration from street dress codes.

Today, the brand and its artistic director Sam Attyé want the DNA of the house to be seen as one cohesive project.

Outside of this pop-up store, Emmanuelle Khanh is sold in France at L’Exception, as well as on its e-shop. The brand is also present internationally, notably in Japan, South Korea, Qatar, and Austria.

The Parisian brand has just released a fragrance called “Au fil de toi,” further emphasizing its desire to diversify.
