Meeting with Toni MATICEVSKI

13 November 2020

For several seasons now, Make It Happen Paris has been home to designer Toni Maticevski’s showroom. In this interview, he tells us more about the choice and importance of this Parisian venue.

How would you best describe the Maticevski brand?

For most people, Maticevski is described as “quiet luxury”. I create pieces for women who like to stand out and aren’t afraid to show their style and taste for fashion. There’s this idea of daring, of taking risks. The silhouettes are innovative and fastidious. It’s all about fit, structure and design.

Why do you think the showroom you’ve chosen is the best?

I think it’s the size of the space (250m2) and this affiliation between art and design. I make a point of keeping creativity very much at the heart of our work. The space offers a unique viewpoint, and there’s a real talent for design thanks to the high ceilings, marble fireplaces and beautiful moldings.

What can you tell us about the choice of location, near the Arc de Triomphe?

It’s a sumptuous location near Parc Monceau and the Arc de Triomphe. As well as being perfectly located, it has a real history for France, which I think is a very important element. Its proximity to the park makes it a place where you can escape and connect with nature.

How did you manage to make this showroom your own?

We’ve succeeded in making this showroom a place for the Maticevski brand by adding our own touch. Our personal touch comes from the way we sell, display and choose our products. The choice of collection and the way it’s arranged in the space allows us to create our own universe.

What do you think of the support of the Make it happen agency in the choice and preparation of the showroom?

It’s really become a family affair. I started out in Paris with Make It Happen. Since then, we’ve always worked closely together, and this has enabled us to always find the best spaces to represent the Maticevski brand.
