It is indeed at the Strand Bookstore in Manhattan that the next Koch\u00e9 runway show will take place. An unexpected choice, as the brand will present its collection this season in the United States, but one that reflects a desire to tell a story. The artistic director recently explained in an interview with Fashion Network that she wishes \u201cto pay tribute to this incredible city, to literature, and to the great authors gathered within these walls, from Hemingway to Sylvia Plath.\u201d However, the silhouettes themselves will remain distinctly Parisian. <\/p>\n\n

This isn\u2019t the first time the brand has chosen an unconventional venue to showcase its collections: last year, it opted for a Gothic church to present silhouettes inspired by PSG \u2014 suddenly transformed into modern-day biblical icons. Two years ago, models strutted through a completely dilapidated Parisian covered passage, donning zebra-print parkas amidst customers of Afro hair salons. <\/p>\n\n

A clever blend of storytelling, mystery, and spontaneity, reflecting the playful and whimsical spirit of this brand.<\/p>\n\n

Unconventional Venues: Already Seen on the Runways<\/h3>\n\n

Koch\u00e9 is not the only brand to have chosen to host its runway shows in unexpected locations.<\/p>\n\n

In 2013, Marseille-born designer Simon Porte Jacquemus took over the edge of an Olympic swimming pool in Paris’s 11th arrondissement.<\/p>\n\n
